Biography

ADA MILLER, 79, of Sullivan, IL passed away at 2:45 A.M. on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Sullivan Health Care Center in Sullivan, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 3rd at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church. Rev. Larry Rocke and Rev. Lonnie Gingerich will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. and from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the church on Sunday, August 2nd. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting Ada’s family with arrangements.

Ada was born on January 15, 1930 in Council Bluffs, IA, a daughter of Joseph F. and Barbara Miller. She married Henry W. Miller on June 12, 1952 in Kalona, IA.

Survivors include her husband Henry of Arthur, and daughters Bertha Miller of Loudon, TN, Barbara Herschberger and husband Menno of Arthur, IL, Linda Miller of Arthur, IL, Darla Nicholson of Indianapolis, IN, June Hawk of Maryville, TN, and Edna Eheart and husband Warren of Garrett, IL. Also surviving are sons Glen Miller and wife Linda of Holmen, WI, Melvin Miller and wife Teresa of Arthur, IL and Kenneth Miller and wife Lisa of Champaign, IL. Ada was the proud grandmother of 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and one brother Daniel Miller and his wife Barbara of Kalona, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Esther Miller.

Ada was a member of the Sunnyside Mennonite Church in Arcola. She enjoyed embroidering and scrap booking. Ada loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren who always brought a smile to her face.

Memorials may be made to the Sunnyside Mennonite Chruch of Arcola.
