ADLAI E. YODER, 93, of rural Sullivan, IL passed away at 7:35 A.M. on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Pleasant View Church, 155 N CR 300 E, Arcola, IL.  Matthew Bontrager will officiate.  Burial will be in the Pleasant View Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M on Monday, November 20, 2017. and on from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Pleasant View Church.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Adlai was born on August 6, 1924 in Arthur, IL.  He was a son of Eli D. and Katie Ann (Mast) Yoder.  He married Lena A. Miller on November 30, 1944 near Arthur, IL.  She passed away on March 15, 2011.

He is survived by seven children, Katie Fern (Floyd) Helmuth of LaGrange, IN, Larry (Pat) Yoder, Glen (Carol) Yoder, Clifford (Kathy) Yoder, Leona (Ed) Kuhns, all of Sullivan, IL, Linda (Merle) Plank of Arcola, IL and Wayne (Corina) Yoder of Sarasota, FL, twenty-seven grandchildren, fifty-one great-grandchildren, one brother, Daniel Yoder of Elk Heart, IN, and four sisters, Susanna Herschberger of Arthur, IL Edna Otto of Leonard, MO, Sovilla Gingerich and Elsie Schrock both of Arthur, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli D. and Katie (Mast) Yoder, his wife, two brothers, Willis Yoder and Willard Yoder, two sisters, Mattie Yoder and Verna Miller and three great-grandsons.

Adlai was a faithful member of Pleasant View Church.

Adlai started farming in 1944 and has been involved with farm drainage since 1974.   He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with family and friends.
