Alberta Eversole, 95, of Monticello, IL, formerly of Arcola and Hindsboro, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the Piatt Co. Nursing home in Monticello.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 3, 2009 in the Tuscola Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with visitation in the Chapel that began at 9:30 A.M. Bishop Rick Taylor presided.
Alberta was born July 18, 1913 in Villa Grove, the daughter of Harry E. and Dora Belle (Culver) Scott. She married Keith Eversole on July 4, 1933 in Charleston. They owned Eversole Hardware and Appliances in Hindsboro and later in Arcola. After selling the business in 1958, they moved to Houston, Texas, where she was employed by the University of Houston Book Store and Keith worked for the Methodist Hospital System. After retirement they moved to Cherokee Village, Arkansas where they lived until Keith died in 1991. Alberta then moved back to Illinois.
She is survived by: daughters Mary Jane (Chuck) Hippler of Monticello and Kay Gamon of Napa, California; grandchildren Deborah Rohde, Decatur; Kathryn (Mark) Waller, Bryan, Texas; Julie Hippler, Billings, Montana; Michelle Hippler, Portland, Oregon; David Hippler, Madison, Wisconsin; Dan (Amanda) Gamon, Richland, Washington; Ann (Corey) Wolff, Brentwood, California and 10 great grandchildren; brother Calvin W. (Nita) Scott of Arlington, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Keith; three brothers, Kelton, Wallace and Eldorado Scott and four sisters, Geneva Powell, LaWanda Lake, Leone Lamb and Juanita Goddard.
Memorials: Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Champaign or Tuscola Stakes, and Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello, IL.
