Alleen Tucker, 85 of Arcola, IL passed away at 9:05 P.M. on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Marshall Rehabilitation and Nursing in Marshall, IL.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Edwards Funeral Home. Private graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 in the Humboldt Cemetery.
Alleen was born on November 24, 1934 in Gideon, MO. She was a daughter of Charles Edward and Minnie Velma (Braden) Boswell. She married Loy M. Tucker on January 2, 1951 in Piggott, AR. He passed away on July 14, 2013.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Pforr and her husband Kevin of Kansas, IL and Rhonda Dodson and her husband Edward of Medicine Park, OK; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three half-brothers and two half-sisters of MO; and one special friend, Ben McCarley of Medicine Park, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, twin sons, Floyd and Lloyd Tucker, one daughter, Frankie VanMeter, and two brothers, Frank Boswell and Lowell Bowell.
Alleen had belonged to the Galton Community Church.
She had worked for Collegiate Cap and Gown in Arcola for 16 years, leaving there in 1982 to start her own business, Alleen’s Doll Shop, repairing and making dolls, which she operated from her home for 27 years, making and distributing dolls all over the world.
Alleen was a Certified Doll Doctor. She had a patent on her Amish Dolls. She made many Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls and was a faithful volunteer for the Raggedy Ann and Andy Museum in Arcola, IL.
