Alma Kauffman

ALMA J. (HERSCHBERGER) KAUFFMAN, 87, of Arcola, IL passed away at 8:05 P.M. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the David Otto residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the HCK West Building with Bishop Jake Stutzman officiating.  Interment will be in the Miller Cemetery.  Visitation will be held any time after 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 5, 2018 and anytime after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the HCK West Building in Arthur, IL.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Alma was born on February 16, 1930 in Arthur, IL.  She was a daughter of Jacob E. and Katie (Diener) Herschberger.  She married Joseph William Kauffman on November 22, 1949.  He passed away on January 28, 2003.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters: Willard Kauffman and his wife Lydia of Arcola, IL, Ruth Ann Pinson of Arcola, IL, Robert Kauffman of Tuscola, IL, Lynn Kauffman and his wife Marla of Arcola, IL and Alta Fern Stoltzfus and her husband Nathan of Berlin, OH; one son-in-law: David Otto and his wife Christina of Arcola, IL; twenty-one grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one twin sister: Alta J. Yoder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter: Marilyn Otto; two brothers: Menno Herschberger and Toby Herschberger; one sister: Mrs. Perry (Fannie) Hochstetler; and one brother-in-law: Mel J. Yoder.

She enjoyed putting puzzles together, but one of her favorite pastimes was quilting.

Alma was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
