Amzy Kaufman

AMZY R. KAUFMAN, 85, of Lovington, IL passed away at 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Reuben Kaufman residence, 1273 CR 1500 E, Lovington, IL. Bishop Howard D. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be any time prior to the funeral at the Reuben Kaufman residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Amzy was born on February 21, 1925 in Lovington, IL. He was a son of Jeff G. and Rebecca (Miller) Kaufman. He married Emma E. Yoder on September 11, 1947 in Chouteau, OK.

He is survived by his wife Emma E. Kaufman of Lovington, IL; eight children, Catherine Rocke and her husband Jerry of Arthur, IL, Rebecca Kaufman and Mary Kaufman both of Lovington, IL, David Kaufman and his wife Anna Mae of Arthur, IL, Jerry Kaufman and his wife Clara Mae of Arcola, IL, Reuben Kaufman and his wife Verna of Lovington, IL, Barbara Miller and her husband David of Arthur, IL and Lloyd Kaufman and his wife Mary Ellen of Arthur, IL; thirty one grandchildren, forty two great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, twenty six step-great-grandchildren, eleven step-great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dan Kaufman of Arthur, IL, Reuben Kaufman of Sugarcreek, OH and Valentine Kaufman of Arcola, IL; one sister, Katie Miller of Arcola, IL and two sister-in-law, Mattie Kaufman of Humboldt, IL and Lois Roberts of Lawrenceville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Andy and Noah Kaufman and one step grandchild, Reuben Rocke.

Amzy was a member of the old Order Amish Church.
