Biography

ANNA J. KAUFFMAN, 86, of Decatur, IL formerly of the Arthur area passed away at 9:25 A.M. on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the Arthur Mennonite Church, 710 East Park Street in Arthur, IL. Rev. Marvin Yoder officiated. Burial was in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Arthur Mennonite Church in Arthur, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL assisted with arrangements.

Ann was born on April 13, 1925 in Arthur, IL. She was a daughter of Joe J. and Susan (Miller) Yoder. She married Albert S. Kauffman on January 15, 1942 in Arthur, IL. He passed away on August 21, 2004.

She is survived by three children, Vi Janzen and her husband Vern of Elkhart, KS, Willard Kauffman and his wife Jean of Atwood, IL and Karen Pankov and her husband Pete of Sunrise Beach, MO; seven grandchildren, Jim and Tina Hamilton of Aurora, CO, Sherri and Travis Hurn of Elkhart, KS, Tracy Kauffman of Fort Payne, AL, Heidi and Steve Yeakley of Atwood, IL, Derek and Toni Herschberger of Ft. Worth, TX, Sean and Christy Conrad of Sioux City, IA and Crista Dearinger of Fredricksburg, TX; twelve great grandchildren and one sister, Irene Yoder of Galveston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Ann was a wife, mother and homemaker. Another great joy in her life was working at Jarman Hospital in Tuscola, IL. She worked in different departments, but especially; enjoyed working in the nursery the most – rocking those babies.

Gardening; especially flowers indoor and out was another great joy.

Ann enjoyed family and friends, she was always the one to visit and stay in touch with family.

Her hobbies include flower arranging, taking art classes, painting, and cake decorating.

Al and Ann enjoyed travels with family thru many states.

Her family has many fond memories of memorable moments.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
