Anna Marie Lampe, 86, of Arthur, IL passed away at 11:50 P.M. on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at The Arthur Home surrounded by family.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 25, 2025 in the Arthur Cemetery. Rev. John Stewart will officiate. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Anna Marie was born on July 7, 1938 in St. Elmo, IL. She was the daughter of Charles Eugene and Mae Marie (Julius) Blankenship. She married Richard S. Lampe on July 27, 1955 in Loogootee, IL; he passed away on February 5, 2021.

She is survived by her three children, Vicki Clark and husband Mike of Charleston, IL, David Lampe and Georgianna Diener of Carthage, MO, and Gary Lampe and wife Karla of Arcola, IL, seven grandchildren, Nicholas Wood and wife Shaina of Grapevine, TX, Megan Wood and husband Jason Cluster of Edwardsville, IL, Brittany Morris and husband Nathan of Webb City, MO, Brooklyn White and husband Alex of Jefferson City, MO, Hillary Chupp and husband David of Arcola, IL, Heather Gauna and husband Harry of Arcola, IL, and Shelby Lampe of Arcola, IL, and one step-grandson, Clint Diener of Carthage, MO, eleven great grandchildren, with one more on the way. Two sisters, Mary Ingram of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Nora Childress of Denham Springs, LA, one brother Mark Blankenship of Taylorville, IL, and a sister-in-law, Judi Osteen of Altamont, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mae Marie Blankenship, her husband Richard Lampe, one brother, Jim Blankenship, and twin cousins, Charles and Carl Christianson who were raised with Anna Marie and her siblings.

Anna Marie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Arthur, IL.

She had worked at The Villa in Arthur, and at Rockome Gardens near Arcola before accepting a position with Dean and Charlene Hendrickson at The Decorator in Arthur. She enjoyed 25 years of interior decorating and design before retiring in 1993. She and Richard also had a small wooden craft business called Annie’s Favorites.

Anna Marie was an extremely talented woman. There wasn’t much of anything she couldn’t do. She enjoyed painting, making beaded flowers and jewelry with her sister, Mary. She created many beautiful works of art over the years. Her sewing talents included making her and her family clothing, wedding attire, curtains and fixing and creating anything you ask her to do. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and smocking. Her true passion was quilting. She enjoyed spending her Tuesday’s quilting with the girls she loved.

Anna Marie cherished her time outdoors, especially sitting outside and watching cardinals on a pleasant day. Above all, she was devoted to her family, she treasured moments spent with all of them especially, her grandchildren. She will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Arthur or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
