ANTHONY JOSEPH "TONY" PELLICAN, 84 of Arcola, IL passed away at 9:05 A.M. at the Arcola Health Care Center on Monday, April 7, 2008.
Tony was born in North East, Pennsylvania on January 4, 1924. He was a son of Joseph and Loretta (Chriest) Pellican. He married Evelyn W. Traxler on March 8, 1986 in Arcola, IL. She passed away on December 2, 2003.
He is survived by a sister, Gloria McGuire of North East, PA; two nephews, Dan McGuire of Chicago, IL and Francis McGuire of Nicholasville, KY; two nieces, Linda Golinski and Kathy Jeglinski both of Chicago, IL and several friends from Arcola and the surrounding area. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Tony was an Army Veteran of WWII. He served as a T5 with the 2262nd Quartermaster Company Truck Aviation.
Tony retired in 1980 from Premier Trucking Service of Chicago as a terminal manager with over 27 years of service. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Arcola. Tony has been employed with Arcola True Value for the past 25 years, he was the manager of tool and equipment rental and incoming freight.
He was a member of the Arcola First Christian Church.
