Barbara Cox

BARBARA L. COX, 73 of Arcola, IL passed away at 9:35 A.M. on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Douglas Rehabilitation and Care Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main in Arcola, IL. Rev. Jess Adams will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.

Barb was born on December 16, 1939 in Chesterville, IL. She was a daughter of Harlan and Audrey (Applegate) Janes. She married Franklin C. Cox on July 25, 1957 in Arcola, IL.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Cox of Arcola, IL; one son, Rick Cox of Arcola, IL; one daughter, Teri Bickel of Charleston, IL; four grandchildren, Brandon Gibson and his wife Lisa of Atwood, IL, Shay Gibson of Arcola, IL, Micah Rader and her husband David of Shelbyville, IL and Austin Bickel of Charleston, IL, three great-grandchildren, Caden Gibson, Taylor Marie Gossard and Adrianne Rader, and one sister, Anita Gilliland of Arcola, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Cathy Gibson, and one brother, Melvin Janes.

Barb Worked at R.R. Donnelly and Sons in Mattoon, IL for over 30 years, retiring in 1998.

She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, fishing and spending time with her family and friends.
