BARBARA ANN CZUJ, 84, of Arthur, IL passed away at 6:40 P.M. on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Arcola, IL. Rev. Barry Harmon officiated. Burial was in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation was from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL.
Barbara was born on November 16, 1925 in Jamaica Plain, MA. She was a daughter of Alexis Fidelas and Agnes Elizabeth (Jordan) Fraser. She married Henry S. “Hank” Czuj on October 18, 1948 in Greenfield, MA. He passed away on May 9, 1999
She is survived by one daughter, Jane Orr of St. Charles, IL; four grandchildren, Kimberly Javorek and her husband RG of Naperville, IL, Scott Korte and his wife Rachel of Columbia, MO, Thomas Orr and his wife Laura of Chicago, IL and Elizabeth Korte of Des Peres, MO; four great-grandchildren, Joseph and Drake Javorek and Andrew and Kate Korte and her son-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and one daughter, Marsha Korte.
Barbara worked at Progress Industries in Arthur, IL for twenty-seven years.
She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Arcola, IL where she had been active in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Barbara was a long time resident of Arthur, IL the town she loved. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Memorials were made to St, John’s Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
