Barbara Deckard

BARBARA ANN DECKARD, 77 of Arthur, IL passed away at 5:33 P.M. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Rev. John Stewart will officiate. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the funeral home.

Barbara was born March 16, 1936 in Decatur, IL. She was a daughter of Norwood Thomas and Ethel (Nichols) Freeman. She married Harold C. Deckard on August 30, 1954 in Decatur, IL. He passed away in May of 2003.

Barbara is survived by one daughter Nancy Rohr of Arthur; one son Kevin Deckard and his special friend Maggie Grider of Arthur; 9 grandchildren, , Justin, Jed, Joe, Tony, Shannon, Angela, Kevin Jr., Brooke and Philip; one sister Sharon Bobbit of Arthur; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Deckard; her brother Ronnie Freeman; and 1 great-grandchild.

Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church in Arthur, IL.

She worked for Illinois Consolidated Telephone Co. for 31 years. Barbara enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and collecting Fenton glass.
