BARBARA ROSE JOHANTGEN, 85, of Neoga, IL passed away at 8:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Paris Healthcare Center in Paris, IL.

A Graveside Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Arcola Cemetery. Father Stephen Sotiroff will officiate. Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Barbara was born on March 9, 1928 in Arcola, IL. She was a daughter of Sherwood and Mabel (Waters) Ellis. She married Richard Miller in 1946. She later married Charles Johantgen in 1960. He passed away in May of 1990.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna L. Dyer of Paris, IL and Sandi Sparks and her husband Jim of Lovington, IL; a step-daughter Mary Lou Johantgen of Indiana; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and son-in-law Jim Dyer.

Barbara was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mattoon and a member of the Moose in Tuscola. She worked for the GTE Telephone Company in Tuscola for 28 years. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.
