Barbara Nelms

Barbara Lynne Nelms, 68, of Mattoon, IL passed away at 5:13 A.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at her residence.

Family and friends will gather at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL.  Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in Mattoon, IL.

Barbara was born on January 22, 1952 in Whidbey Island, WA.  She was a daughter of Wayne Nelms and Dorothy Rose.

She is survived by two daughters, Emily Baumann and her husband Kevin of Charleston, IL and Erica Baumann and her husband Jared of Perry, KS, seven grandchildren, Greyson, June, July, Gunther, Grady, Garth, and Zach, her mother, Dorothy Rose of Sainte Marie, IL, and two sisters, Brenda Nelms of Sainte Marie, IL and Donna Sue Beavers of Mattoon, IL.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Alan Nelms.

Barbara was a very intelligent person, expressing herself while writing poetry.  She enjoyed feeding and watching birds of all types, but most of all spending time with her family.
