Ben Schrock

BEN W. SCHROCK, 86, of Arthur, IL passed away at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at his residence in rural Arthur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, June 19, 2009 at family residence 468 E. C.R. 400 N. in rural Arthur, IL. Bishop Jake Stutzman will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be anytime prior to the funeral at the family residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting Ben’s family with arrangements.

Ben was born on July 31, 1922 in Arthur, IL. He was a son of William B. and Elsie (Kauffman) Schrock. He married Lucy A. Miller on December 29, 1949 in Arthur, IL.

He is survived by his wife Lucy Schrock of Arthur, IL; five children; Katie Ellen Miller and her husband Willis, Vernon Schrock and his wife Mary, Marvin Schrock and his wife Lou Ann, Mary Plank and her husband Howard and Irene Farmwald and her husband David; a son-in-law Daniel Chupp and his wife Dorothy all of Arthur, IL; 21 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katie Kauffman and Lucy Yutzy and her husband Chris all of Arthur, IL and one sister-in-law Elsie Schrock all of Arthur, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lorene Chupp; two brothers, Levi and Martin Schrock; two sisters, Ida Schrock and Caroline Miller and her husband Eli as well as brother-in-law Melvin Kauffman.

Ben was a retired farmer and member of the Old Order Amish.
