BERTHA GINGERICH, 91, of rural Arcola, IL passed away 11:55 P.M. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 A.M. on Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Raymond B. Miller residence, 465 E CR 400 N, North of Chesterville, IL. Bishop Jacob Stutzman will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be any time before the funeral at the Raymond B. Miller residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Mrs. Gingerich was born on December 11, 1922 in Moultrie County. She was a daughter of John C. and Lucy (Miller) Yoder. She married John A. Gingerich on September 24, 1942. He passed away on December 25, 2002.
She is survived by three sons, Reuben H Gingerich of Arcola, IL, Freeman J. Gingerich and his wife Anna Viola of Arcola IL, Ivan Ray Gingerich and his wife Ruth of Arcola IL; one daughter, Elsie Herschberger and her husband Levi of Arthur, IL; and 14 grandchildren 4 great grand-children.
Mrs. Gingerich was preceded in death by, her husband, two infant daughters, one infant son, a son, Christy, one granddaughter Lucy Anna Gingerich, her parents, seven sisters, Maryann Yoder, Annie J. Plank, Ella Schrock, Drusilla Schrock, Mattie Schlabach, Lovina Kauffman and Verna Yoder and four brothers, Joe, Reuben, Melvin and Noah Yoder.
She was a homemaker, she enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family and she was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.
