Brenda Gahlbeck

Brenda “Susie” (Burch) Gahlbeck, 56, of Paxton, IL passed away at 2:55 P.M. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Provena Covenant Medical Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Memorial Services were held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Susie was born on July 20, 1954 in Tuscola, IL. She was a daughter of William Russell and Jo Ann Tuttle Burch. She married Gary Gahlbeck on March 27, 2001 in Paxton, IL.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Gahlbeck of Paxton, IL; one son, Shawn Hudson and his wife Di Di of Fillmore, IN; her parents, Russell Burch of Arcola, IL and Jo Ann Burch of Tolono, IL; two sisters, Pamela Henson and her husband Bill of Charleston, IL and April Burch Gilpin and her husband Gary of Tuscola, IL; one brother, Christopher Burch of Tuscola, IL; two grandchildren, Dax Comer and Kevin Hudson; one great-grandchild, Blaine Comer; one step-daughter, Jaci Gahlbeck; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William “Billy” Burch, one sister, Cheryl McQueen, and her grandparents.

Susie was a member of the Blue Ridge Band of Cherokee Indians.

She had worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and as an over the road truck driver.

She enjoyed gardening, making crafts, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
