Brenda Hensley, 71 of Arcola, IL passed away at 11:54 A.M. on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St., Arcola, IL. Pastor Jeremy Morton will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral, from noon until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Brenda was born on August 2, 1950 in Tuscola, IL. She was the daughter of Thomas O. and Sally Bernice (Shaw) Davis. She married James A. Hensley on June 8, 1968 in Arcola, IL. He passed away on October 25, 2013.
She is survived by three children, Samantha Roberts, Christy Johns and her husband Larry, and Scott Hensley and his wife Susie all of Arcola, IL, nine grandchildren, Josh Roberts and his wife Robin of Mattoon, IL, Corey Roberts and his wife Cara of Arcola, IL, Stephanie Roberts of Arcola, IL, Sidney Johns of Arcola, IL, Alayna Reece and her husband Levi of Wilmington, NC, Emma Johns of Arcola, IL, Isabelle, Lillian and Molly Hensley all of Arcola, IL, eight great grandchildren, Colbie and Elliet Roberts, Camryn and Cooper Roberts, Ava and Liam Closson, Mason Wisehart, and Saylor Reece, five siblings, Frank Davis and his wife Angie of Humboldt, IL, Jeannie Vice and her husband Tom of Mattoon, IL, Gail Baker and her husband Ron of Arcola, IL, Cindy Purvis and her husband Donnie of Arcola, IL and Thomas B. Davis of Charleston, IL, and an uncle Bill Shaw and his wife Shirley of GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Brenda attended Truth and Grace Fellowship in Mattoon, IL and was a supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project.
Brenda worked in banking for several years, having worked at Arcola First National, Frist Mid in Arcola, and Charleston Boatman’s. She worked at Olde Brick Wall in Arcola for 10 years.
Brenda enjoyed gardening, and loved her flowers, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
