Brian Johnson

BRIAN LEE JOHNSON, 62 of Mattoon, IL passed away at 10:15 P.M. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at his residence in Mattoon, IL.

A Memorial service was held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Mattoon, IL. Rev. Mike Snow officiated. Visitation was held one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. The Edwards Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Brian was born on July 24, 1948 in Mattoon, IL. He was a son of Harold Joseph and Mary Margaret (Fitzpatrick) Johnson.

He is survived by his life companion, Marsha Allen; five children, Becki Inyart and her husband Chad of Sigel, IL, David Johnson of Mattoon, IL, Jamey Davis and her husband Jay of Laurel, MS, Andy Johnson of Laurel, MS and Jill Allen of Mattoon, IL; six grandchildren, Trenton Fetters, Christopher Young, Bradley Johnson, Bailey Davis, Adrian Allen and Keenan Allen and one brother Jack Dinkelmann and his wife June of Mattoon, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Brian had been a mechanic for Down Town Ford for several years. He later worked as an auto body repair man for Young’s Used Cars before operating his own auto body shop from his garage.

Brian enjoyed restoring and painting old muscle cars and music of all kinds.

Memorials were made to the family.
