CARL JOHN CRUSE, JR., 68, of Hindsboro, IL passed away at 3:19 P.M. on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Edwards Funeral Home, 221 E. Main St., Arcola, IL. Rev. Kent Hickerson will officiate. Burial will be in the VanVoorhis Cemetery in Hindsboro, IL. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the funeral home.
John was born on January 28, 1944 in Decatur, IL. He was a son of Carl and Pauline (Willis) Cruse. He married Carol Ann Fitzjarrald of Marshall, IL on April 20, 1968 in Kansas, IL.
He is survived by his wife; two children, Stephanie Ann Montgomery and her husband Sterling of Ramsey, IL and John David Cruse of Hindsboro, IL; two grandchildren, Megan Brianne and Dalton Charles Montgomery of Ramsey; one sister Sue Daugherty and her husband Butch of Hindsboro, IL; one brother Edward Cruse of Manteno, IL; sister-in-law Phyllis Galeener of Marshall, IL; brother and sister-in-law Allen and Peggy Goekler of Marshall, IL; three nieces, three nephews, ten great-nieces, six great-nephews, and two great-great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Brian Scott Cruse.
John was a 1963 graduate of Oakland High School and retired from Cabot Corporation in Tuscola. He also spent several years as a member of the Hindsboro Volunteer Fire Department. John enjoyed restoring classic cars, listening to 50’s and 60’s oldies, remodeling projects, gardening, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
