Carol Johnson

CAROL SUE JOHNSON, 73 of Charleston, IL passed away at 11:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Carol was born on August 20, 1943 in Douglas County, IL to the late Eva and Ernest Tate.  She graduated from Oakland High School and was employed by Zenith in Paris, IL and for several years at Moore’s Business Forms in Charleston, IL and J.J. Collins when she retired.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Richard Johnson of Charleston, IL, a step-daughter, Lisa Auten and her daughter Megan and step-son Tony Johnson and his wife Patty, and their two children Dylan and Deanna, two sisters, Betty Alcorn of Arthur, IL and Pat Kittle and her husband Dwayne of Radford, VA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carol and Dick were long time members of the Moose Lodge in Charleston and enjoyed car traveling throughout the U.S. Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 21, 2017 in the Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston, IL.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coles County Animal Shelter.
