Catherine VonLanken, 95, of Arthur, IL passed away at 1:25 A.M. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Mason Point in Sullivan, IL.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Arthur United Methodist Church. Rev. Leroy Allison officiated. Burial was in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to the funeral.
Mrs. VonLanken was born on August 23, 1915 in Arthur, IL. She was a daughter of Dock and Emma Catherine (Ashwell) Houts. She married Charles VonLanken on August 23, 1934 in Arthur, IL. He passed away on February 16, 1990. The Edwards Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara J. Conlin and her husband Bob of Arthur, IL; one brother, Jimmie P. Houts and his wife Mim of Pahrump, NV; five grandchildren, Pat Yoder and her husband Larry of Sullivan, IL, Robert G. Conlin Jr. of Canton, MI, John C. Conlin of Venice, FL, Alan J. Conlin and his wife Di of Virginia Beech, VA and Michael J. Conlin and his wife Vickie of Champaign, IL and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Betty Scarlett, four brothers, Harold, Gerald, Earl and Bill Houts and two sisters, Jessie Hill and Rose Renner.
Mrs. VonLanken was a member of the Arthur United Methodist Church. She had been a member of the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Lodge of Arthur, IL.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans and gardening.
