Cecil Ivan Andrew Rhodes

CECIL IVAN ANDREW RHODES, 87, of Tuscola, IL passed away at 2:41 P.M. on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

At Mr. Rhodes request no formal services will be held.

Mr. Rhodes was born on January 1, 1935, in East St. Louis, IL, a son of Aaron Ivan and Edith Lucille (Gregory) Rhodes.   He married Beatrice June Gessford on October 5, 1957.   She passed away on March 12, 2006.  He later married Carleen Cain on July 15, 2012, in Lick Creek, IL.

He is survived by his wife Carleen; four daughters, Christal Fay Rhodes, Connie June Harrison, Cheryl Ann Rhodes and Andrea Lee Rhodes; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Cain and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Beatrice, one brother, Charles Rhodes and one sister, Naomi Acklin.

Mr. Rhodes is a United States Air Force Veteran.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas.

Mr. Rhodes retired in 1990 at the age of 55 having served the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 27 years.   After he retired, he and his wife Beatrice moved to Montana where he enjoyed hunting fishing and traveling.
