CESAR ZUNIGA, 73, of Arcola, IL passed away at 3:02 A.M. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Arthur Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola, IL. Father John Titus will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hour before the funeral on Saturday at the church. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Cesar was born on August 27, 1941 in Cadereyta, Mexico. He was the son of Anastacio and Maria (Davila) Zuniga. He married Maria Villarreal on June 1, 1959 in Cadereyta, Mexico. She passed away on March 16, 2007.
He is survived by three daughters, Sanjuana Salinas and her husband Ramiro, Maria Zuniga and Norma Martinez and her husband Arnulfo all of Arcola, IL; three grandchildren, Erica, Emilio and Sofia Martinez.
Cesar was preceded in death by his parents his wife, Maria, one son, Cesar Zuniga and one grandson, Cesar Antonio Martinez.
Cesar was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola, IL and Cadereyta, Mexico.
Cesar worked at Libman Co. in Arcola, IL, Warren Brothers Brother’s Broom Co. for over 25 years until the closed down due to a fire and later he retired from the O’ Cedar Brand Broom Co. in Paxton, IL.
Cesar enjoyed fishing, baseball, music and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
