Chuck Goens

CHUCK GOENS, 56, of Lake City, FL - Forever in our hearts and missed more than words can say, our brother, son, uncle, father, grandfather, friend, Chuck Goens, left us to be with Jesus on April 30, 2017 in Lake City, Florida from injuries received in an accident.

Memorial services will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St. in Arcola, IL.

Chuck was born on November 8, 1960 in Mattoon, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Chris (Paul) Goens; 3 stepchildren: Kavin Paul of Stark, FL, Leslie Carruthers of Lake City, FL, Danielle Phillips of Stark, FL; his parents: Charles Goens and his wife Laveta of Mattoon, IL and Francis (Crist) Goad and her husband Elvin of Arcola, IL;  5 siblings: Sharon White and her husband Willie of Mattoon, IL, Debbie Renfro and her husband Skip of Lovington, IL, Patty Shupe of Charleston, IL, Gary Goens and his wife Mel of Lake City, FL Ann Lytle of Whittington, IL; close friends: John Hartley, David “Stretch” Boeckman and Mickey Viraig; and his fur companion, Faith.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Ruby (Ramsey) Goens, and Ernest and Lora (Clough) Crist.

Chuck enjoyed life, he had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and a great love for his family and friends. He had a huge heart and a sweet spirit.  Chuck gave the best hugs and we know we will see him again and get those hugs that we will miss so much.
