Clarence Shaffer

Clarence David Shaffer, 92, of Arcola, IL formerly of Ashmore, IL passed away at 6:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Mr. Shaffer was born on the Shaffer farm near Rardin, IL on June 2, 1916 to Walter and Minnie Shaffer. He married Helen Ruth Walden Finney on September 3, 1947. She preceded him in death on July 7, 1994. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles, Arthur and Marion (Bus) Shaffer; sisters, Leola Pearl Cammeron, Esther Minerva Shaffer, and Mary Jane Randsel.

He is survived by one daughter Janna Lynn Nale of Charleston, IL.

He was an Army veteran of WWII and life member of the Charleston VFW and the Charleston Elks. He worked various jobs until retirement to Ashmore in 1979.
