Daniel Miller

DAN S. MILLER, 88, of Arthur, IL, passed away at 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 26, 2008 at the family residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. Monday, September 29, 2008 at the Ruben Gingerich residence, 261 E. CR. 600 N, Tuscola, IL. Bishop Sam Schrock will officiate. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery rural Arcola, IL. Visitation will be anytime prior to the funeral service at the Ruben Gingerich residence. Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Dan was born November 1, 1919 in Arthur, IL. He was a son of Stephen S. and Anna (Yutzy) Miller. He married Mary Ann Kauffman on August 28, 1941 in Arcola, IL.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary Ann Miller of Arthur, IL; one son Melvin Richard Miller and his wife Lydia Ann of Tuscola, IL; two daughters Delores Ann Miller at home and Frances Schrock and her husband Abe of Arthur, IL; one brother Peter S. Miller of Elkhart, IN; 10 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

His parents, one grandson, four brothers and six sisters preceded him in death.

Dan was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith. He was a farm hand for Millard Dukeman of rural Arthur for many years. Dan finished his working days at Gingerich Pump Shop in rural Arthur, IL.
