David Byler

DAVID A. BYLER, 51, of Arthur, IL passed away at 3:18 P.M. on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his residence in rural Arthur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church in rural Arcola, IL. Rev. Larry Rocke and Rev. Duane Kuhns will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church in rural Arcola, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

David was born on April 16, 1961 in Middlefield, OH. He is a son of Lester R. and Sarah Jane (Shrock) Byler. He married Gertie Ann Gingerich on August 1, 1981 in Kokomo, IN.

He is survived by his wife Gertie Ann Byler; three children, Gregory Byler, Wendy Byler and Kimberly Miller and her husband Eldon all of Arthur, IL; one granddaughter Ashley Byler of Arthur, IL; his father, Lester R. Byler of Sarasota, FL; four brothers, Larry Byler and his wife Kathy, Lester Ray Byler, Mark Byler and Gaylon Byler all of Sarasota, FL and two sisters, Mary Alice Miller of Sarasota, FL and Arlene Mullet and her husband Junior of Sugar Creek, OH

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Jane Byler, one brother, Paul Byler and an infant sister.

David was a member of Sunnyside Mennonite Church. He had been a carpenter, plumber, truck driver and most recently a taxi driver. He enjoyed music, singing and playing the harmonica, but especially spending time with his granddaughter.

Memorial may be made to the family for a scholarship fund for his granddaughter.
