DEWEY JUNIOR ANDRES, 78, of Fisher formerly of Champaign, IL passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 afternoon at his daughter’s home in Fisher, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Edwards funeral Home, 221 East Main in Arcola. Pastor Morris Chesnut will officiate. Burial will be in the Tuscola Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

Dewey was born on August 29, 1938 in Champaign, IL. He was a son of Dewey R. and Beulah (Kuyrkendall) Andres. He married Hazel Marie Schoonover, they spent 35 wonderful years together before she passed away on May 5, 1997.

He is survived by his daughters, Tammy (Darren) Jackson of Fisher, Penny (Harry) Schrock of Arthur, and Robin (Larry) Wood of Arcola; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Barb Thompson, Rennie Hites and Retsie Marlowe all of Champaign and a brother, Robert Andres of Tolono as well as many wonderful friends including his life-long best friend Jack Sexton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey R. Andres and Beulah (Andres ) Roderick, his wife Hazel Marie Andres and 2 brothers, Albert and Frank Andres.

Dewey was a self-employed mechanic. He owned and operated DJ’s garage in Tolono and Tuscola.

Dewey loved playing Rummy after dinner every night and getting out and going for long drives while enjoying the beautiful scenery. He also enjoyed playing horse shoes and dancing. He loved having his family around him and he appreciated all of the visiting nurses who helped care for him in his home, they made his days enjoyable.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
