Dollie Irvin

DOLLIE MAE IRVIN, 84, of Tuscola, IL passed away at 4:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the Mattoon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Pastor Steven Stern will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

Dollie was born on July 21, 1937, in Trumann, AR. She was a daughter of Leo Joseph and Lucille (Settle) Ladd. She married Robert Morris Irvin on March 19, 1954 in Chicago, IL. He passed away on June 6, 1998.

She is survived by three children, Robert Morris Irvin Jr. and his wife Paula of Jacksonville, FL, David Andrew Irvin and his wife Candace of Springboro, OH, and Dianne Elizabeth Brannon and her husband Rick Hock of Arcola, IL; six grandchildren, Robert Morris Irvin III of Jacksonville, FL, Sarah Ashley Irvin and her wife Jennifer Millisor of Columbus, OH, Jared David Irvin of Springboro, OH, Matthew Gage Irvin of Dayton, OH, Patrick Andrew Irvin of Springboro, OH and Ryan James Brannon of Columbus, OH as well as five great-grandchildren.

Dollie was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Thelma Oldham, William Lee “Sonny” Ladd, Betty Azar and Robert Raymond Ladd and a granddaughter, Natalie Rojas.

A loving mother, Dollie worked at both the Tuscola Visitors Center and the Douglas County Museum, as well as volunteering with the cafeterias of the Tuscola Schools public school system.

Above all, she was proudest of her many years spent playing piano for the First Church of God in Tuscola.

Dollie was beloved by her family, including her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
