Donald Crist

DONALD CRIST, 80, of Arcola, IL passed away at 2:26 P.M. on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Arcola Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main in Arcola, IL. Rev. Dale Tomas will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the funeral home.

Don was born on July 2, 1929 in Douglas County, IL. He was a son of Ray Carl and Pansey Marie (Booker) Crist. He married Evelyn VanDeveer on May 11, 1961 in Tuscola, IL. She passed away on March 27, 2009.

Survivors include; five children, Donna DeVries of Grant, MI, Joan Scharenbroch and her husband Russel of Grant, MI; Ricky Crist Sr. and his girlfriend Michelle of Garrett, IL, Brenda Kelley and her husband Rick of Decatur, IL and Melissa Walker and her husband Linnie of Cooks Mills, IL twenty four grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold E. Crist and his wife Linda of Sullivan, IL and Ervin W. Crist and his wilfe Beverly of Arthur, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one daughter, Mary Ann Dewitt

Don had worked s an electrician since he was 16 years old. He worked for Young Electric of Tuscola, IL Arcola, True Value and had been self employed for many years.

Don enjoyed watching a good western on TV, visiting with friends at the Hen House and spending time with family.
