Donna Spears

DONNA LOU (TALLEY) SPEARS, 80, of Decatur, IL passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side at 9:57 A.M. on Thursday, December 13, 2012.

A visitation to celebrate her life will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Monday, December 17, 2012 with a small memorial service to follow at the Maranatha Assembly of God, 555 West Imboden, Decatur, IL. The family request casual attire. A private family burial will follow at a later date. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Donna was born on January 18, 1932 in Ramsey, IL. She was the daughter of Hubert Kyle and Fern Elizabeth (Merriman) Talley. She married James “Jim” McMillan in October of 1948 and later married Bob Spears in June of 1963. Jim McMillan passed away in October of 2009.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bob Spears; children, Diana (Steve) Martin, Mike (Ellen) McMillan, Ron (Debbie) McMillan, Darrell (Sarah) McMillan, Karen (Matt) March, Marla Spears (John Hall), Karla (Steve) Rhodes, Scott (Tina) Spears and Ed Spears; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, four sisters and one son Craig Spears.

Donna was a retired beautician. She was also a member of Maranatha Assembly of God. She was baptized on October 29, 2006.

She was an amazing woman who loved life and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
