EDITH MAE BROCK, 85, of Atwood, formerly of Hindsboro, IL passed away at 8:50 A.M. Sunday, February 24, 2008 at The Arthur Home in Arthur, IL.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Edwards Funeral Home 221 E. Main St., Arcola, IL. Rev. Steve Devore will officiate. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 27, 2008.

Edith was born August 3, 1922 in Douglas County, IL. She was a daughter of Ben Davis and Ethel Faye (Murray) Fortune. She married Varde Wade Brock on June 7, 1941 in Tuscola, IL. He passed away July 1, 2007.

Survivors include two children, Charles Wade Brock and his wife, Starre, of Bowling Green, KY and Diane Kay Deckard and her husband, Ron, of Atwood, IL; five grandchildren, Dawn Brizendine and her husband, Anthony, of Portland, TN, Molly Brockinton and her husband, Chuck, of Jacksonville, AR, Jesse Brock of Bowling Green, KY, Carrie Obermark and her husband, Kevin, of Metropolis, IL and Drew Deckard and his wife, Heather, of Metropolis, IL and 8 great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kassie Little, Ben and Emily Brockinton, Clay and Kurt Obermark, Rachel Brizendine and Graycee Deckard.

Her parents, her husband and one brother, John Fortune, preceded her in death.

Edith was a member of the Hindsboro Christian Church and attended the Atwood Christian Church.

Edith was a hairdresser for several years. She also worked as a bank teller at the Tuscola First National Bank from 1971 to 1974.

Edith enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and gospel music.
