Edwin Yoder

EDWIN J. YODER of Arcola, IL was called to rest at 12:30 A.M. Saturday, October 3, 2009 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. His age, 76 years, 4 months, 3 days.

Visitation was at his residence prior to the funeral. Funeral services were held Monday, October 5, 2009 at 9:00 A.M. at the Family residence, 323 E CR 200 N Arcola, IL. Bishop David J. Otto officiated. Burial was in the Yoder Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home assisted Edwin’s family with arrangements.

Edwin was born May 31, 1933 in Douglas County, IL. He was a son of Jerry S. and Alta (Yoder) Yoder. He married Martha L. Stutzman on January 27, 1955; she passed away on May 10, 1976. They lived in matrimony 21 years. He later married Mary L. Miller on April 21, 1978. They lived in matrimony 31 years.

Survivors include his wife Mary L. Yoder; one son and three daughters; Mary Hostetler and her husband Ervin of Arcola, IL, Irene Yoder of Arcola, IL, Howard Yoder and his wife Verna of Arthur, IL, Carol Gingerich and her husband Jonathan of Arcola, IL; twelve grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and thirty six step-great-grandchildren; five sisters, and one brother, Mary Schrock of Sullivan, IL, Anna Troyer and Elnora Mullet of Sugar Creek, OH, Kathryn Yoder and Lewis Yoder both of Lovington, IL and Susan Miller of Arthur, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and three brothers, Henry, Raymond and Jerry Jr.

Edwin was a member of the Old Order Amish. He was a retired farmer and a pallet shop employee.
