ELISHA “DOYLE” RARDIN, 80 of Hindsboro, IL passed away at 6:33 P.M. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Rev. Shane Beever and Rev. Brandon Hatfield will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 30, 2010 at the funeral home.

Doyle was born on May 17, 1932 in Martinsville, IL. He was a son of John Leslie and Ruby Catherine (Welch) Rardin. He married Ruby Kay Pennington on May 11, 1955 in Lawrenceville, IL.

He is survived by his wife Kay Rardin of Arcola, IL, five children, John Rardin and his wife Martha of Indianapolis, IN, Doug Rardin and his wife Leann of Arcola, IL, Larry Rardin and his wife Kelly of Charleston, IL, Brenda Schrock of Broadlands, IL and Tim Rardin and his wife Taurina of Staunton, VA; fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Joe Rardin and his wife Betty of Martinsville, IL and Bill Rardin of Casey, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents, a great-grandson, Adlia Schrock, two brothers, Cleo and Wendell Rardin and one sister, Peggy Thompson.

Doyle was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from USI as a pipefitter. He enjoyed going to auctions, gardening and working around his farm.

He was a member of the Moose in Charleston, and Walnut Grove Christian Church in rural Arcola.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
