Biography

ELIZA SCHROCK, 91, of Lovington, IL passed away at 12:50 P.M. on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Mason Point in Sullivan, IL.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Arthur Mennonite Church, 710 East Park Street in Arthur. Rev. Glen Rhodes and Rev. Joe Diener officiated. Burial was in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Arthur Mennonite Church. The Edwards Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Eliza was born on August 18, 1921 in Arthur, IL. She was a daughter of Simon and Fannie (Diener) Otto. She married Lewis A. Schrock on April 21, 1942 in Arthur, IL. He passed away on November 20, 2000.

She is survived by one son, Lester Schrock of Lovington, IL; one daughter Charlene Eastman of Arcola, IL; one granddaughter, Sheila Hopkins of Arcola, IL; two great-grandsons, Austin Lewis Hopkins and Trevin Nicholas Plank; one brother, Robert Otto of Bella Vista, AR; one sister, Katie Ann Schrock of Arthur, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis A. Schrock, three brothers, Obed Otto, Otis Otto, and Andrew Otto, and three sisters, Barbara Miller, Verna Yoder and Lydia Gingerich.

Eliza was a member of the Arthur Mennonite Church.

She used to clean homes in the Arthur area, she had worked for the Arthur Junior High School in the cafeteria, the Arthur Home in the kitchen and Rockome Gardens in the gardens. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. Eliza entered many of her quilts in area quilt shows and did a lot quilting for other people.

Memorials were made to the Arthur Mennonite Church, Lincolnland Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
