Elizabeth Beachy

ELIZABETH J. BEACHY, 89 of Arthur, IL passed away at 7:39 A.M. Sunday, May 02, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Arthur Mennonite Church 710 E. Park Street, Arthur, IL. Rev. Glen Rhoades and Rev. Lamar Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Arthur Mennonite Church. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Elizabeth was born April 19, 1921 in Arthur, IL. She was a daughter of Jacob and Lydia (Kauffman) Blucker. She married Noah E. Beachy on November 16, 1940 in Arthur, IL. He passed away September 13, 1997.

Survivors include three sons Larry Beachy and his wife Myra of Arcola, IL, Phil Beachy and his wife Dee of Tuscola, IL and Leonard Beachy and his wife Judy of Arthur, IL; one daughter Debbie Miller and her husband Ben of Arthur, IL; one brother John Blucker and his wife Evelyn of Sturgis, MI; two sisters Katie Yoder and her husband Willis and Maranna Chupp and her husband Jake all of Arthur, IL and one sister-in-law Mary Blucker of Nappannee, IN. Seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband Noah Beachy, her parents, one brother Martin Blucker, one sister Irene Yoder and a great grandson, Brenden Jones preceded her in death.

Elizabeth was a charter member of the Arthur Mennonite Church.

She was a cook for the Arthur Schools for many years, and later worked at the Dutch Kitchen in Arcola, IL.

She was a loyal Chicago Cub fan and fighting Illini fan.

She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.
