ELIZABETH “LIZ” KINGERY THOMPSON LIVESAY, 85, of Arthur, IL passed away at 1:35 A.M. on Monday, February 8, 2010 at her residence in Arthur, IL.

Funeral was held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Rev Michael Johnson officiated. Burial was held in the Mackville Cemetery at Atwood, IL. Visitation was from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the funeral home.

Liz was born on December 7, 1924 in Douglas County, IL. She was the daughter of Oscar and Stella (Jacobs) Kingery. She married William F. Thompson in May of 1941 in Missouri. He passed away in September of 1988. She later married Jay Livesay in December of 1990 in Arthur, IL. He passed away in December 2002.

She is survived by one daughter, Janice (Thompson) Roberts and her husband David of Coppell, TX; one step granddaughter, Bethany Roberts of Mattoon, IL and one sister, Mary Kolb of Arthur, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husbands and four brothers Roy, Jim, Chet and Bill Kingery.

She was a member of the Toledo Christian Church. She had attended the Zion United Church of Christ and most recently attended the Vine Street Christian Church in Arthur, IL. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Arthur, IL.

She had worked at Bag and Barrier of Toledo, IL and retired from R.R. Donnelley and Son’s of Mattoon, IL. Having lived on a farm as a child and through most of her adult years, she considered herself a farmer.

Music was a very important part of her life. She also was an avid award-winning bowler, enjoyed gardening and she spent most of her time caring and doing for others.

She was a true Angel here on earth.

Memorials were made to Vine Street Christian Church or the Arthur Lions Club.
