Ellen Nelson

Ellen L. Nelson, 60 of Charleston, IL passed away at 4:34 PM on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL.

Ellen was born on July 12, 1960 in Chatham, Ontario, Canada.  She was a daughter of George and Patricia (Mayhan) Gaines.  She married Tim Nelson in 2009 in Tuscola, IL.

She is survived by her husband, Tim of Charleston, IL, one son, Matthew Dutot of Mattoon, IL, one grandson, Logan Dutot of Charleston, IL and her mother, Patricia Gaines of Windsor, Ontario.

She was preceded in death by her father and two sisters, Janice Bellmore and Jocelyn Ulmer.

Ellen enjoyed raising rabbits, horses, ducks, chickens and pigs which was exactly what made her happy.  She especially enjoyed driving and riding her horses.
