Ellen M. (Fetters) Romine

ELLEN M. (FETTERS) ROMINE, 65, of Arcola, IL passed away at 7:25 P.M. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Charleston Rehabilitation and Care Center.  

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Edwards Funeral Home.   Rev. Brent Budd will officiate.   Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 PM. on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in the Long Point Cemetery in Neoga, IL.

Ellen was born on January 15, 1957, in Mattoon, IL.  She was a daughter of Vernon Fowler and Barbara Jean (Fox) Fetters.

She is survived by three daughters, Jamie Marie (Ralston) Shotts and her husband Dustin of Terre Haute, IN, Stacy Lynn Shonkwiler and her husband Jeremy of Arcola, IL and Ginny Lee Elder and her husband Ryan of Mattoon, IL; four grandchildren, Peyton McCoy and Sydni Staton both of Terre Haute, IN and Brock and Braden Shonkwiler both of Arcola, IL; two great-grandchildren, Alivia and Malcolm Jackson both of Terre Haute, IN; her sister, Julie Finney and her husband Rodney of Mattoon, IL and nieces and nephews, Joshua Haycraft of Greenfield, IN, Holly Wolfe of Olathe, KS, Austin Finney of Crawfordsville, IN, Jacob Finney of Marshall, IL and Devin Finney of Casey, IL. 

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Barbara Fetters and a daughter, Christie Michelle Atteberry.

Ellen worked at the Pizza Corner in Arcola, IL many years ago.  She drove a school bus for the Arcola School District.  She worked at Schrock’s Cabinet Factory in Arthur, IL and later worked for Monahan Partners in Arcola for many years.  

She enjoyed her computer, playing games and keeping up with friends and family on social media.   She loved animals of all kinds and she always enjoyed spending time with her family.
