ELMER GLENN KEMP, 84 years 3 months and 13 days, of Arthur, IL passed away at 10:00 P.M. on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Arthur Home.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Elva H. Miller, 67 E CR 200 N in rural Arthur, IL. Bishop Ervin Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be any time prior to the funeral at the Elva Miller residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Elmer was born on May 13, 1929 in Kalona, IA. He was a son of Benedick S. and Sarah (Overholt) Kemp. He married Ella Yoder on September 29, 1955 in Arthur, IL. They lived in matrimony for forty seven years. She passed away on May 14, 2002.
He is survived by two daughters, Ruth Elaine Miller and her husband Raymond B. and Rosa Marie Kemp, one son-in-law Elva H. Miller and his wife Katie Viola (Otto) all of Arthur, IL; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin Kemp and his wife Rachel, and Noah Kemp and his wife Linda; three sisters, Alta Miller, Edna Yoder and her husband Milford and Mary Jane Yoder and her husband Doyle and one sister-in-law Betty Kemp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter, Carol Jean Miller, two grandchildren, Rhoda Elaine Miller and Clifford R. Miller, and four brothers, Samuel, Henry, Omer and Maynard Kemp, two sisters Carolina and Fannie Kemp, one brother-in-law, Elmer Gee Miller and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kemp.
Elmer was a cabinet maker and a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.
