Elmer Miller

ELMER S. MILLER, 85, of Arcola, IL passed away at 12:15 A.M. on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at William Otto residence, 326 E. Co. Rd. 100 N., Arcola, IL. Bishop David Otto will officiate. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery in rural Arcola, IL. Visitation will be any time prior to the funeral service at the William Otto residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Elmer was born on October 6, 1927 in Tuscola, IL. He was a son Sam and Tillie (Schrock) Miller. He married Amanda Jane Hershberger on December 5, 1950.

He is survived by his wife Amanda of Arcola, IL, 5 daughters, Emma Jo and her husband Leroy Gingerich of Sullivan, IL, Carolyn Gingerich and her husband Seranus, Tillie Gingerich and her husband Marlin, Clara Mae Kaufman and her husband Jerry, Kathryn Otto and her husband William all of Arcola, IL; 2 sons, Kenneth Miller and his wife Dorothy of Arthur, IL, Enos Miller and his wife Margaret of Arcola IL; 47 grandchildren; 96 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Leah Plank of Croften, KT, Rebecca Yoder and her husband Joe of Middlebury, IN, Maggie Gingerich of Tuscola, IL, and Katie Gingerich and her husband Morris of Tuscola, IL; 3 sister-in-laws, Anna Miller of Nappanee, IN, Clara Miller of Indiana, and Susanna Miller of Arcola, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Samuel, and 4 grandchildren Eli Eugene, Wilber Gingerich Treva Gingerich and a stillborn; 1 great-grandchild, Cynthia Ann Yoder and 3 brothers, Adlai, Joe and Bennie Miller.

Elmer had been a chicken farmer, carpenter and candy maker.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
