Ervin Yoder

ERVIN J. YODER, 86, of Arcola, IL passed away at 11:35 A.M. on Monday, July 22, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Larry Miller residence 127 N. C.R. 200 E. in rural Arcola, IL. Bishop David Otto will officiate. Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be held any time prior to the funeral at the Larry Miller residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Ervin was born on May 9, 1927 in Moultrie County, IL. He was a son of Joseph A. and Susanne (Mast) Yoder. He married Mattie Jess on December 2, 1948 in Douglas County, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Mattie Yoder; three sons, Lester Yoder and his wife Anna Marie (Miller) of Arcola, IL, Oba Yoder and his wife Betty Louise (Miller) of Arthur, IL and Freeman Yoder of Arthur, IL; four daughters, Gertie Ann Brenneman and her husband Lonnie of Arthur, IL, Sarah Plank and her husband Floyd of Vienna, IL, Susanna Otto and her husband Melvin of Arthur, IL and Irene Miller and her husband Larry of Arcola, IL; thirty-nine grandchildren and eighty-nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, Eli Yoder and his wife Wilma of Crab Orchard, KY, Fred Yoder and his wife Martha of Milton, IA, Abraham Yoder of Milton, IA and Melvin Yoder of Arthur, IL and one sister, Anna Beechy and her husband Levi of Humansville, MO.

Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lucy Schrock, one brother, Noah Yoder one brother-in-law, David Stutzman one sister-in-law, Barbara Yoder and three grandchildren.

Ervin was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith. He had worked at E-Z Trail in Arthur, IL for several years.
