Esther Yoder

Esther Yoder, 95, of Arthur, IL passed away at 3:31 PM on Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Arthur Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Arthur Mennonite Church, 710 East Park St., Arthur, IL. Pastor Glen Rhodes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, at the church. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Esther was born on January 7, 1930, in Arthur, IL. She was a daughter of Dan B. and Lovina (Beachy) Yoder.

She is survived by two brothers, Adlai Yoder of Atwood, IL and Dan Yoder of Denver, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Ella Yoder, and three brothers, Reuben, Alvin “Al”, and Nelson Yoder.

Esther worked as a nurse at the Masonic Home in Sullivan, IL before accepting a position at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL where she continued working as a nurse until she retired.

Esther was a member of the Arthur Mennonite Church. She had a passion for music.
