ETHEL MARIE HARBAUGH, 75, of Tuscola, IL passed away at 9:48 A.M. on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, IL.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 E. Northline Road, Tuscola, IL. Rev. Jason M. Braaten officiated. Burial was in the Tuscola Cemetery. Visitation was from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tuscola, IL and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL assisted with arrangements.
Ethel was born on October 30, 1935 in Tuscola, IL. She was a daughter of Byron Lewis and Edith Marie (Rahn) Belles. She married James F. Harbaugh on February 14, 1953 in Tuscola, IL.
Survivors include her husband James F. Harbaugh of Tuscola, IL, three children, Rev. James F. Harbaugh Jr. and his wife Janice of Belmond, IA, Terry L. Harbaugh and his wife Rhonda of Effingham, IL and Cindy M. Ekstrom and her husband Michael of Mahomet, IL; five granddaughters, Christine Schwab, Maria Cote and her husband Dan, Joanna Biessener and her husband Adam, Dagmar Robertson and April Doyle and her husband Wade; four great-grandchildren, Charlotte Lorraine Cote, Christian Rose, Natalie Doyle and Nolan Doyle; one step-sister Martha Wingler and her husband Paul of Arcola, IL; one half-sister Linda Kay Williams and her husband Jim of Kearney, NE and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Aileen (Andrews) Belles, two brothers, Dale Belles who was an infant and Elmer Belles and one sister Charlene Cravens.
Ethel had been a bank teller at First Federal Bank of Tuscola for many years.
Ethel was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she had been involved with ladies aid and the church choir.
She was a member of the Tuscola Lions Club where she served as past president and past secretary and she had been a Marvin Jones Fellow. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Stanton-Burgett Post 201.
Memorials were made to the Lions of Illinois Foundation or the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
