Floyd Kauffman

Floyd G. Kauffman, 80 of Arcola, IL passed away at 11:41 A.M. on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Otto Center, 2058 CR 1800 E., Arthur, IL.  Rev. Lanny Faulkner will officiate.  Burial will be in the Bourbon Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the Otto Center.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements

Floyd was born on July 29, 1941 in Arthur, IL.  He was a son of George A. and Sovilla (Schrock) Kauffman.  He married Lizzie Ann Miller on April 9, 1964 in Arcola, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Lizzie Ann Kauffman of Arcola, IL, 6 children, Duane Kauffman and his wife Valerie of Oakland, IL, Karen Johns and her husband Sean of Bulverde, TX, Irvin Kauffman and his wife Terri of Tuscola, IL, Elvin Kauffman of Arcola, IL, Floyd Kauffman and his wife Amy of Arthur, IL and David Kauffman of Arcola, IL, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one sister, Clara Mae Plank and her husband Ivan of Arthur, IL and one sister-in-law, Anna Kauffman of Arthur, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eli Kauffman.

Floyd was a member of the First Baptist Church at Atwood.  He worked at the Arthur Grain Company for over 25 years.

Floyd loved spending time with his family and enjoyed being outdoors.  Although he was blind and had Parkinson’s, he never let anything get in the way of what he loved to do, including woodworking.  He loved building furniture for his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s.
