Frances Franklin

FRANCES ELLEN FRANKLIN, 75, of Hindsboro, IL passed away at 12:20 P.M. Friday, September 7, 2012 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Edwards Funeral Home. J.D. Strader will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the Edwards Funeral Home 221 E. Main St., Arcola, IL

Frances was born October 24, 1936 in Kansas, IL. She was a daughter of Thomas Noble and Audrey Inez (Kurts) Walsh. She married Jerry R. Franklin on June 21, 1953 in Oakland, IL. He passed away on February 25, 1994.

Survivors include one son, Daniel Robert Franklin and his wife Helen of Bethany, IL; two daughters, Audrey Lutz and her husband William of Humboldt, IL and Martha Hamilton and her husband Charles of Big Creek, KY; four grandchildren, Ryan Anne, Danny, Joshua and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Benjamin and Camille; and two sisters, Jean Deaton of Oswego, IL and Ann Honn and her husband Tom of Chester, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry R. Franklin, an infant son, Douglas Allen Franklin and four sisters Fern Holding, Dora Cook, Freda Mauzy and Ruby June Simpson.

Frances was a member of the Hindsboro Christian Church. She retired from Herff Jones of Arcola in 2003. Frances enjoyed crocheting, reading and caring for her cats.
