FRED D. SCHROCK, 84, of Arthur, IL passed away at 11:20 A.M. on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Joseph Schrock residence, 150 E CR 100 N in rural Arthur, IL. Bishop David Otto will officiate. Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be held any time prior to funeral at the Joseph Schrock residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Fred was born on August 31, 1928 in rural Arthur, IL. He was a son of Daniel J. and Nancy (Schlabach) Schrock. He married Edna Chupp on November 24, 1954 in rural Arthur, IL.
Survivors include his wife Edna Schrock; four sons and six daughters; Barbara Ann Schrock of Arthur, IL, Paul (Rosemary Miller) Schrock of Arthur, IL, Mary (Willard Jess) of Arcola, IL, Mattie Marie (Marcus Gingerich) of Arthur, IL, Ada Fern (Andy Ray Herschberger) of Windsor, MO, Clara Mae (Wilmer Yoder) of Reed City, MI, Omer (Wilma Miller) Schrock of Sears, MI, Sara (Ernest Schrock) of McBain, MI, Samuel (Christina Kaufman) Schrock of Arthur, IL and Joseph (Treva Miller) Schrock of Arthur, IL; eighty-one grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and nineteen step-great-grandchildren; six brothers, Henry (Esta) Schrock of Sarasota, FL, Jacob (Nancy) Schrock of Arthur, IL, Edwin (Viola) Schrock of Arthur, IL, Daniel (Dena) Schrock of Cuba, IL, Sam (Susie) Schrock of Tuscola, IL and Jerry (Magdelena) Schrock of Kalona, IA; two sisters, Martha (Lonnie) Yoder of Arthur, IL and Elizabeth Ann (Roy) Beachy of Kalona, IA; three step-brothers and four step-sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-parents three grandchildren, three brothers three step-brothers and four step-sisters.
Fred was a retired dairy farmer and was most recently employed by Mid-State Machine.
He was a member of Old Order Amish Church.
