Gary Bowers

GARY WAYNE BOWERS, 66 of Mulberry, IN formerly of Mattoon, IL passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at his residence in Mulberry, IN.

A graveside funeral service was held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 22, 2010 in the Arcola Cemetery, Arcola, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home of Arcola, IL assisted with funeral arrangements.

Gary was born on August 25, 1943 in Arcola, IL. He was a son of Orville Dean and Minnie Kay (Sadler) Bowers. He married Kay (Nadolny) Johnson on August 15, 1960 in Mattoon, IL.

He is survived by his mother Kay Conrad of Mulberry, IN; two sons, Gary Bowers and his wife Kim of Mattoon, IL, Gill Bowers of Villa Grove, IL; one daughter, Pam Tayler and her husband Mike of Charleston, IL; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Reynolds and her husband John of Mattoon, IL, Jackie Larsen of Mulberry, IN; one brother, Jim Bowers and his wife Betty of Tanytown, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Kirk Bowers and Greg Bowers; his father Dean Bowers and grandparents Orville and Irene Bowers.

Gary worked at Water’s Body Shop several years until he moved to Mulberry, IN.

He enjoyed working and refinishing cars.
