Gary Staton

GARY ELLIS STATON, 60 of Neoga, IL formerly of Arcola, IL passed away at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Visitation was held from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Edwards Funeral Home, in Arcola, IL. Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Funeral Home. Burial with military rights was in the Zion Hill Cemetery in Mattoon, IL.

Gary was born on June 17, 1950 in Tulsa, OK. He was a son of Clyde and Margie Staton. He married Jeanie Fox on October 9, 1992 in Arcola, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Staton of Neoga, IL, one son, Eric Staton and his wife Alison of Charleston, IL, one daughter, Tara Bryant and her husband Jason of Tuscola, IL, two step-daughters, Tammy Fox of Arcola, IL, Amy Wilson and her husband David of Arcola, IL and one sister, Linda Jensen and her husband Wayne of Kansas City, MO. and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Staton.

Gary was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a supervisor at Masterbrand Cabinets, Inc. in Arthur, where he has worked for 25 years. He enjoyed boating and fishing at Lake Mattoon.
